Once the war had finished in Great Britain 1945 outside going with a number of redundantes airfields but without an important park of Donington of the track of the race still it was a military deposit of the storage of the vehicle, Brooklands had been sold extinguished, the crystalline palace was in a state of disrepair and portilla of the trade names continued being underdeveloped.
The club of real automobile was interested in Silverstone as potential site and approached the ministry of the air in 1948 and a leasing was fixed. In this time the center of the circuit of Silverstone was a farm producing harvests of cereal and also one pocilga so brown employee RAC of James Wilson of the farmer to create the first magnificent circuit of Prix in the site and gave two months hardly you to construct it.
The 2 of October of 1948, in the middle of the bullets and of the cords of the straw, the first event of Silverstone happened, the RAC magnificent Prix. The course of 3,67 miles sent to compete with of 23 cars competent around the part of the track of the perimeter, upon both channels previous and again to the perimeter. This disposition meant that the cars competed with towards one to front until they gave left return acute and returned to the perimeter. For this canvas of the reason the screens were erected through center of the circuit to stop the conductors who were distracted whereas he was not allowed to the spectators of the circuit due to the potential damage the increasing harvests in center.
The winner of the inaugural race in the circuit of Silverstone was Luigi Villoresi in a Maserati, that registered an average speed of 72 mph to demand the first prize of £500. A year advanced more, after the dangerous channels were eliminated and chicane was inserted in the club in the full way of the perimeter, Silverstone virtually received a second important event in May of 1949 - the express international trophy of the newspaper of formula one - a second magnificent Prix, won by Alberto Ascari.
Others of more famous classic works of Silverstone also began in August of 1949, daily express the international trophy for the cars of formula one and for this meeting chicane of the club was given with and the circuit took a form that was hard for a quarter of a century.
